Made-to-Measure Cellular Pleated Blinds in Bolton, Wigan & Chorley
Pleated blinds fold into crisp, even pleats that stack away almost completely when raised, giving you full light one moment and soft privacy the next. Choose the cellular honeycomb version and you also get one of the most energy efficient window coverings you can buy, which is a big part of why so many of our customers pick them.
Here at Bespoke Blinds, every pleated blind is made to measure and fitted free of charge by our own installers. We have been measuring and fitting blinds in Bolton, Wigan and Chorley for over 30 years, so whether you are insulating a conservatory in Horwich, dressing bi-fold doors in Standish or darkening a bedroom in Chorley, we will find the right fabric for the space and install it properly first time.
Choose from sheer, dim-out and blockout fabrics in a wide range of colours, available free-hanging, corded with a child safety device, or completely cord-free in the Perfect Fit® frame system. Every blind comes with our 3 year guarantee, and you can spread the cost with Klarna. Request a free quote or download our brochure to see the range.
What Makes Cellular Pleated Blinds Different?
Look at a cellular blind side on and you will see rows of hexagonal pockets running the width of the fabric, a structure often called honeycomb. Those pockets trap a layer of still air between your glass and your room. Still air is a poor conductor of heat, so the blind acts like a slim layer of insulation sitting right at the window.
In practice that means warmth stays in during a cold Lancashire winter and strong summer sun is taken down a notch before it reaches the room. Windows are where most homes lose heat first, so an insulating blind is one of the simplest upgrades you can make. For more on how window dressings affect your heating bills, see our energy saving guide.
Where Cellular Pleated Blinds Work Best
- Conservatories. Glass roofs and full-height glazing make conservatories cold in January and stifling in July, and this is where the honeycomb fabric earns its keep. We also offer a shaped cellular option for conservatory roofs, skylights and roof lanterns as an alternative to roller blinds.
- Bi-fold and patio doors. Fitted as Perfect Fit® blinds, the fabric sits inside a slim frame on each door panel, so the blinds move with the doors and never swing or catch.
- Bedrooms and nurseries. Choose a blockout cellular fabric and the honeycomb pockets do double duty, keeping the room dark and holding a comfortable temperature overnight. A popular choice with families and shift workers across Wigan and Bolton, and you can compare it with our full blackout blinds range.
- Home offices. Sheer and dim-out fabrics soften screen glare without shutting out daylight, and the neat stack keeps the window sill clear.
- Awkward and shaped windows. Because the fabric is light and compact, pleated blinds suit shallow frames, unusual widths and shaped conservatory glazing that heavier blinds cannot manage.

Pleated Blinds – FAQ
Do you supply pleated blinds in my area?
What is the difference between pleated and cellular blinds?
A standard pleated blind is a single layer of pleated fabric. A cellular blind uses two layers joined into honeycomb-shaped pockets that trap air and insulate the window. Both fold and operate the same way; cellular simply adds the energy saving layer, which is why most of our customers choose it.
Do cellular blinds really help with energy bills?
Yes. The trapped air inside the honeycomb pockets slows heat passing through the glass, so rooms hold their warmth in winter and stay cooler in summer sun. Customers with conservatories and large glazed areas notice the difference most. See our energy saving guide for more.
Can pleated blinds be fitted to conservatory roofs and skylights?
They can. We supply a shaped cellular option designed for conservatory roofs, skylights and roof lanterns, and the insulating fabric is particularly worthwhile overhead where summer heat gain is strongest. Ask about roof options at your free home appointment.
Can I get blackout pleated blinds?
Yes. Our blockout cellular fabrics keep bedrooms properly dark, and the honeycomb structure holds a comfortable temperature overnight too. For the other styles available, see our full blackout blinds range.
How do pleated blinds work?
Pleated blinds raise and lower using a bar along the bottom edge of the fabric, or a simple handle on Perfect Fit versions. As the blind rises, the fabric folds into a compact stack at the top of the window, so almost none of your glass is covered when the blind is up. Prefer to measure yourself first? Our how to measure for blinds guide walks you through it.
Are pleated blinds safe for homes with children?
Yes. Perfect Fit® pleated blinds have no loose cords at all, which makes them an excellent choice for children’s rooms. Corded versions come with a child safety device fitted as standard, positioned correctly by our installers on the day. See our child safety advice page for more.
How much do pleated blinds cost?
Price depends on the size of the window and the fabric you choose, which is why we quote after a free home measure rather than guessing. The visit and the quote are free with no obligation, installation is included, and Klarna lets you spread the cost. Get your free quote here.
